…touching hearts

Is this wisdom?

“Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in his might, nor let the rich man glory in his riches; but let him who glories glory in this; that he understands and knows me” Jeremiah 23:24

Whenever I remember King Solomon David, I wonder how well he managed to tune and convince seven hundred women to marry him and three hundred others to become his concubines. In this age, it is not even easy to approach a woman talkless of convincing her- Maybe you’ll say the times have changed. However, the truth is King Solo was a smart man. His smartness was pronounced in his management of the one thousand women without a record of a single divorce, when many a man finds it difficult to live with only one woman as wife- not because women are troublesome.

I discern that his secret came from the wisdom and wealth God gave to him. He must have used the wisdom to tell them he is not equalled by any man, then use the wealth to manage and settle them as women have always been easily deceived by men through their affluence and influence- see Genesis.

Howbeit on a closer look, the women proved smarter than Bro Solo as they were able to divorce him from his relationship with the God of Israel. They knew what they aimed at, while Solomon thought he was cheating them.

The question is: Could Solomon be truly said to be wise since his
wisdom could not discern and resist these foreign women from turning his heart away from God who gave him both wisdom and wealth?

Who is smarter, Bro Solomon or the foreign wives and concubines?

Truth be told, If you use God given talents anyhow, you pay for it.

“Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord and depart from evil” Proverbs 3:7.
